About David Pettijohn

It has only been until recently that I have started calling myself a photographer. I love shooting which means you’ll probably almost always see me holding a camera. Which means that I’m shooting all kinds of subjects – portraits, products, landscapes, food, events, my family. I have no real interest in pigeon-holing myself into any of these categories. I am interested in developing my own style and aesthetic that might help bridge the gap between all of these genres and provide some sort of cohesion and consistency within the work.

I shoot film and I shoot digital. Camera gear is expensive as well as film developing, data storage and transportation. I try and be mindful of all of these factors so that I can eat some good tacos at the end of the day. I’m no use to anyone when I’m hangry.

My camera list, in case anyone cares, is a Canon 6D, Fujifilm GFX50R, Nikon D850, Nikon F6, Nikon F3, and Mamiya 7. I use Interfir S1 monolights for studio work.
